January 9, 2016 - Feast Day of the Black Nazarene in Quiapo, Manila
The feast day of the Black Nazarene in Quiapo, Manila is observed every 9th of January.
What is the impact of this feast? Is God our Almighty Father pleased with this activity? Do thousands of people from different walks of life from children to adult who are rushing and sacrificing to attend this feast have changed for good?
This is a big feast and so much preparations were made. The visit and kissing of the image which was undertaken a day before the feast was held at the Quirino grandstand to be able to accommodate so many followers and believers. They whisper their request as they pass and kiss and wipe their towel or hankies to the image.
The procession on the feast day took almost 24hours with so many people rushing to get near the image, pushing each other just to touch even the cord used to pull the cart where the statue of the black Nazarene is lying. Others are throwing their towels or hankies to be wiped to the statue where owners kissed and kept it.
Two followers died due to heat and fatigue, and almost thousands were attended by medical personnel due to different sickness or wounds during procession for mostly are walking barefooted.
Are these all pleasing to the eyes of our Creator God the Father Almighty? NO! God our Father would have been pleased and happy if these people had renewed their lives - repented or asked forgiveness for their sins and lived a righteous life same as the life of Jesus!
The pushing, shouting and hurting each other during procession are not Godly manners but evildoings. Others after hours of tiring procession or pulling the cart of the black nazarene are winding-up to relax by drinking beer or liquor. Is this Godly?
Who is the Black Nazarene? Why pay so much homage and worship? Isn't it that we should WORSHIP ONLY THE CREATOR and NOT His creation?
A lot of these wrong practices are written in the Bible, both in the new and old testament. Also it is stated in the Bible how angry God is to these wrong ceremonies and rituals! But why do the priests and other who propagate the words of God do not correct these? They still continue to do the wrongdoings in the Bible to mislead the people. What is important to them, popularity and money?
If these statues or images are their gods, why they still carry them? Why can't it walk by himself? Dress by herself/himself? Can't even remove the dirt or cobweb on it's face?
The Bible is our guide! Let's not follow the mistakes written but avoid them, just follow the good deeds!
Maybe now we understand why God our Creator is angry, thus we experience a lot of trials such as diseases, calamities, war, famine, etc.
Let's renew our lives. Follow the examples of Jesus. WORSHIP ONLY THE HOLY AND SACRED ALMIGHTY GOD OUR FATHER!
