Mission at Sitio Redsand, Wali, Maitum, South Cotabato

Feb 28, 2016 - Mission at Sitio Redsand, Wali, Maitum, South Cotabato

This is the blessing of the 3rd chapel for our Almighty Father in Maitum due to the effort of Kap & Amy Desaville.

The climate during this season is very hot and sunny due to El Nino. The group travelled boarding a cargo truck with no roof, BUT God our Father blessed the trip for the atmosphere is quite cloudy thus it was not so hot.

There are 22 households of T'boli families living in a valley planted with coconuts & vegetables. The place was a former riceland but was covered with muds and rocks due to landslide. Every time there is a heavy rain, the families would go up the nearby hill for safety even during the night.

The residents are almost relatives for they came from a forefather with 5 wives. The males are working as agri laborers in other farms while the women are tending to their children and household. Their children are mostly going to elementary school which is located along the highway which they have to walk for 30 minutes and cross 2 creeks.

In September 2015, there were 5 people, 2 males and 3 females, whom Menchie met at downtown, who visited their village and told them to worship God the Almighty Father only, and that someday, someone would come to their place and introduce the only true God who is Our Father.

They live in shanties made of light materials. There is no electricity in the area thus they live a simple life with less sin. Their past time is to compose songs for God with an old small guitar, their only musical instrument which they played during our visit.

They were very thankful that the Holy and Sacred Almighty God our Father is introduced to them.
